CEIBS will hold the 3 rd BGRC on Jun 6 ¨C 8, 2008

As a continuation of a great tradition, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) is organizing its third ˇ°Being Globally Responsible Conferenceˇ± (BGRC) on June 6 th -8 th , 2008. The conference is initiated by CEIBS MBA students and promotes CSR to the future global business leaders. So far, BGRC is the biggest event managed by business school students in Asia¨CPacific region.

The theme of this year's conference is ˇ°New Horizon, Better Worldˇ±. The three-day meeting will feature expert speeches, group workshops, movies and network opportunities. What's more, on the third day CEIBS students will host a final round of INNOVATEChina Global Innovation Challenge, where finalists MBA students from the world's top business schools will compete for the Grand Prize by providing innovative solutions for the corporate sponsors focusing on CSR issues in China .

BGRC's highlighted topics include, but are not limited to environmental protection, sustainable development, corporate governance, sustainable energy usage, poverty reduction and social entrepreneurship. BGRC will engage well-known speakers from different spheres, such as NGO's, Universities Faculty and subject matter experts, who will share their experience and challenges related to Sustainability and Social Responsibility.

Among the keynote guest-speakers, the event will host some of the world's most respected socially-responsible leaders: Frederick Dubee, Senior Advisor to the UN Global Compact and Nancy Barry, President of Nancy Barry Associates and former President of Women's World Banking. As to conference sponsors, CEIBS students engaged pro-CSR multinational corporations like Envonik Degussa, Atlas Copco, Gamesa and Bayer China.

BGRC targets MBA students mostly from Asia-Pacific region. The estimated number of event participants is close to 300 from about 50 business schools from Mainland China , Hong Kong , Taiwan , Japan , Korea , Thailand , India , Singapore , Philippines , Malyasia , Australia , Spain , Denmark and US. Today's graduates will become tomorrow's business and economic leaders; thus, it is crucial to equip them with the knowledge and sense of responsibility in order to create a healthy, ethical and sustainable economy that will lead to better environment and a better world. This is the mission of the BGRC.

This year conference will focus on familiarizing students with current issues, shaping CSR-conscious mindsets, as well as enrolling future business leaders into possibility of incorporating CSR practices in their career. Another key objective of this conference is to provide metrics and tools to integrate social responsibility into a corporate strategy in any industry.
